About the PCT-KUH: Pittsburgh center for training in kidney, urology and hematology

Strategic Vision and Mission

There have been tremendous advances in biomedical sciences over the past several decades that should lead to significant advancements in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of kidney, benign urologic and benign hematologic (KUH) diseases. Unfortunately, over the past several decades, we have also seen reductions in the number of young physicians and scientists who are interested in lifelong careers in biomedical research. The main objective of our training program is to provide an intensive and structured research experience for both physicians and non-physician trainees and to foster the development of the skills needed to pursue a successful career in investigative nephrology, benign urology and benign hematology.
