I am a Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Chemical Biology specializing in basic and translational studies focused on cardiovascular and hematological physiology and pathophysiology. I hold a BS from Allegheny College, a PhD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health, and completed postdoctoral training at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. My work has been published in journals such as Nature, Nature Medicine, Blood, Journal of Clinical Investigation, Circulation, and Journal of Biological Chemistry. My research has been funded by notable sources, including multiple NIH/NHLBI grants (T32, F32, K99/R00, R01, R35), the AHA Established Investigator Award, and industry-funded grants. I am a charter member of the Integrated Vascular Physiology and Pathophysiology Study Section and the AHA Established Investigator Program. I have received numerous recognitions from the American Heart Association (AHA), including being a finalist for the ATVB Irvine H. Page Young Investigator Research Award and the BCVS Outstanding Early Career Investigator Award, as well as the recipient of the Harry Goldblatt Award and Mid-Career Research Award from the AHA Council on Hypertension. I have also served on the AHA ATVB Early Career Committee and the AHA Council on Hypertension CHAMP Council, mentoring early-career researchers. In 2022, I received the William E. Brown Outstanding Medical Scientist Training Program Mentor Award from the University of Pittsburgh. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife, three daughters, and fly fishing worldwide.
