  • Associate Professor of Medicine & Cell Biology

I am a physician scientist with clinical training in internal medicine and nephrology. After completing my clinical training, I completed two postdoctoral fellowships in renal physiology and cell biology before joining the University of Pittsburgh. My research team is devoted to understanding how kidney tubules control electrolyte homeostasis, and more broadly, how cells throughout the body control their size and fluid volume. We seek to understand how these processes are linked to human disease. In my spare time, I enjoy running, hiking, listening to and making music, and going to art exhibits with my wife, who teaches in the studio arts department at Pitt.
