Nathan received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (2016) and received the Bronze Tablet Award, a recognition reserved for the top 3% of the graduating class. He worked for Boeing Company as a Test Engineer in Huntsville, AL for four years on NASA’s SLS / Artemis program and then an additional two years for one of Boeing’s flight simulation labs in St. Louis MO. He enrolled in Carnegie Mellon University’s PhD program in 2022 and has since been working in the LeDuc Lab, studying the responses of different cells to mechanical stimuli. He is interested in continuing to explore ways to apply his experiences with mechanical and mechatronic design in the field of biology. His free time is spent reading, cooking, rock climbing, playing soccer, and discussing movies with friends.
